Nikki Sullivan Just Unlocked an Extra Life DX Racer Chair — You Still Have Time!
Seven-year Extra Lifer Nikki Sullivan recently raised her five thousandth dollar for Extra Life in 2020 and unlocked a DX Racer chair. We asked her a few questions about her support of Extra Life, how she hit that huge fundraising milestone and what other fundraising activities she has planned for the remainder of the year.
Q: Hi there, how are you doing?
Nikki Sullivan: Hello! I’m doing great – so excited for Game Day this weekend!
Q: What children’s hospital do you play for? Do you have a personal connection to it or another CMN Hospital?
NS: I am playing for Children’s Health in Dallas! No personal connection, but very happy that we can help kids here in the North Texas area.
Q: How did you first hear about Extra Life?
NS: I think it was a social media post explaining the charity. I thought it was an awesome way to use gaming for good and signed up!
Q: What does change kids’ health, change the future mean to you?
NS: By joining together to raise money for new treatments, care, research, and procedures we can help to create a healthier future for all.
Q: $5,000 USD is QUITE the fundraising milestone! What are the tactics you used to help get you to this big milestone?
NS: It is – our community attacked our goals for the year! We stream on Twitch all year round, so reaching out to our community there and on our social media with our goals has been huge for us. We also start fundraising early and spread it out a bit. This year we kicked our fundraising off with the Tabletop Appreciation Weekend with a special D&D one-shot and then continued fundraising all through October up until Game Day. By having this extra time more people are able to participate and contribute. We also do some fun giveaways and incentives at different milestones which helps drive more interest to the fundraising page too!

Q: How have you configured your DX Racer chair? Give us the deets!
NS: The chair is so cozy – all the pillows in place and ready to rep Extra Life all year long!

Q: What would you say to encourage someone who feels like a $5k milestone is out of reach?
NS: You can absolutely do it! 🙂 If $5K is your goal be sure to plan ahead, break it down into smaller milestones, and involve your support groups and communities where possible. Most importantly, celebrate the milestones you reach and have fun! Extra Life is an amazing cause and every penny raised goes to help children in need – so every little victory makes a big difference.
